My name is Loretta and I am 35 years old. I am happily married and the mother of five. I think I am one of the older (if not the oldest) student in this class, but as I always say, it's never to late to learn.
Anyway, I already have two associates degrees that I received at TSTC back in 1992. After I graduated TSTC, I got my first real full-time job as an Education Coordinator and had been there ever since. Yes, it had been almost 15 years. But most recently, I left VBMC and got a new job as Executive Assistant which is already proving to be a very exciting and challenging job. So that brings me to what I'm doing here. Well, for the last year and half I had been pursuing a degree as a Court Reporter, but found out it quite wasn't what I had excpected, so I'm now changing paths. I'm back here at TSTC trying to finish up my basics so I can then transfer to UTB to finish my Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with minors in Education and Business.
I believe Composition classes have definitely prepared me for my current profession because I'm excpected to be very professional and know how to handle myself both on the phone and in person with very important people. With my new position, I will also be traveling and it is quite important to be able to communicate in different cities.
It's not easy having a full-time job, a part-time job (Oh, did I mention that I'm still working with my previous employer on a part-time relief basis until they find my replacement), five children, a husband and school. It's a wonder I'm still alive, but I am definitely looking forward to learning alot this semester. Good luck to everyone!

Hello, Loretta! It's great to see that you are still trying to achieve higher goals, even after already having several degrees. That's quite an extensive career history. Being a Court Reporter does sounds very interesting, though. I hope you reach your goals, and good luck to you, as well :)
Helle Loretta,
Its a wonder how you do it all Super Women. I have such respect for someone who has a full family life and still makes their dreams happen. So I bet your an old pro at this online course thing. I just hope I can keep up with the kiddies here. I feel so out of place. How about you.
Great to meet you Loretta! I am honestly impressed at everything you do...you are a role model that can prove that it can be done. I know I don't know you, but I am proud of you! Keep up the good work. If you need any assistance throughout the semester, feel free to contact me and I will be more than happy to help. :)
Hi Loretta,
From where I'm sitting you're just a little past Spring chicken. Which means I'm the oldest, by a long shot. I'm even older than the teacher. I do admire your drive to find something you can succeed at and be comfortable doing. Hopefully, by showing your family and friends what it takes to succeed they will find the fortitude to do it for themselves.
Wow you sound like my mom! Part-time job and a full time mom. That’s really cool that you have five kids. I am one of five and I love having a big family, as i am sure you do too :) congratulations on your successes and good luck on you future endeavors.
